FAQs

What therapeutic services do you offer?

1

I offer virtual individual 50-minute therapy sessions for older teens and adults. I specialize in the treatment of OCD, Anxiety, Phobias, Perfectionism, and Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors such as skin picking, hair pulling, cheek biting, lip biting, and nail biting.

How do I get started?

2

Whether you have questions or are ready to make an appointment, you can reach out to me via email, phone, or the contact form at the bottom of the page. I’ll be in touch within 48 business hours.

What makes you different?

3

The majority of my practice is dedicated to working with individuals experiencing OCD, phobias, and body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), so it is very likely that I have worked with concerns similar to yours. I specialize in—and exclusively use—leading, science-backed treatments to ensure you receive the most effective care possible. I am deeply committed to ongoing education and staying current with advancements in treatment so that I can consistently provide my clients with the highest quality of care.

What will my first session look like?

4

Your first session is where we will go over your history, the concerns that are bringing you to therapy, and begin to form a treatment plan together. All sessions are 50 minutes.

Do you accept insurance?

5

While I do not accept insurance directly, many clients successfully submit claims for out-of-network reimbursement through their insurance plans. Your insurance provider can offer guidance regarding your out-of-network benefits. If applicable, I will gladly provide a form called a superbill to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

What forms of payment do you accept?

6

All major debit/credit cards and HSA/FSA accounts are accepted.

What else do I need to know about being a private pay client?

7

  • You may be able to claim your therapy sessions as a medical expense tax deduction

  • You may be able to claim your therapy sessions as out-of-network claims with your insurance

  • Paying privately allows more flexibility with how many sessions we meet- typically insurance will limit the number of sessions you are allowed

  • When paying privately, insurance cannot request your notes from your therapist

How long do I need therapy?

8

Therapy is and should be individualized, and therefore this is a hard question to answer. Many people begin coming to therapy weekly or bi weekly, and then begin to space out sessions as time goes on and they begin seeing symptom improvement. The length of treatment can also depend on the severity of your symptoms, other issues that may arise during therapy, and completion of homework between sessions when applicable.

How much does counseling cost?

9

Consultation call (15 minutes): FREE

Individual Counseling Sessions (50 minutes): $130

Sliding Fee Scale: Negotiated based upon need

Do you prescribe medication?

10

While I do not prescribe medication, I maintain trusted referral relationships with prescribing providers and can connect you with one if medication is something you would like to explore.

What is your cancellation policy?

11

A 24 hour notification is required for any cancellations. The fee for any appointments not cancelled within 24 hours or missed is your full session fee. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please contact me.

What types of treatment do you focus on?
